What We Do

We are a unique school dedicated to teaching quality, authentic ballet technique and performing original dance works set to original music compilations. 

We approach the development of our dancers with the study of all movements by a systematic progression through  forms.  In other words, we teach A before B and B before C.  If you teach X, Y, Z first, injury will occur.

Our approach to teaching is NOT based on competition, but on developing character and a positive self image through a higher level of performance and creativity.   As such, our trophies are audience reaction. 

 Harmonic Motion performances are genuinely entertaining and promise to be unlike any other.  The choreography in our performances tells a story and uses creative input  not only from the choreographer but from the dancers themselves.

If you have not ordered uniforms and registered for class yet, please come by.

Rebecca Colvin, Sage Buchanan, Kelsey Linn, Meredith Pollock Victoria Steele and Caroline Steele have been selected to attend the 12th International Congress for the teaching of Classical Ballet Technique. 

These students have the distinct honor of studying under the direction of Dr. Peggy Willis-Aarnio, the world's leading authority on Russian Ballet technique and the only outsider to ever be certified to teach from the Russian curriculum.

 Harmonic Motion dancers will also be studying with Marina Medvetskaya, director of the St. Petersburg Classical Ballet Theatre. 

 President and Artistic Director of Harmonic Motion, Sharon Steele will also attend the teacher's portion of the Congress.  This will be her second year to attend and study with Dr. Aarnio.

It is indeed a great honor to be invited to study with these icons of ballet and I hope we will return with great knowledge and inspiration with which to share with our community!
